Double Carport — Lusaka

The Brief

A homeowner in Lusaka needed a double carport to protect two vehicles from sun and rain damage. The property had limited space between the house and boundary wall, requiring a carefully planned structure.

Constraints & Requirements

Property boundary setback of 1m, existing paved driveway, underground services to avoid, specific height requirement for SUV clearance.

Our Solution

We fabricated a 6m × 6m gable-roof carport using 76mm × 76mm mild steel columns and 100mm × 50mm purlins. The structure was hot-dip galvanized for long-term corrosion protection, with IBR sheeting in charcoal grey. Gutters and downpipes were included to manage rainwater runoff. Installation required precise footing placement to avoid underground plumbing.

The carport was completed in 3 weeks from order to installation. The hot-dip galvanized finish ensures a 20+ year lifespan with minimal maintenance. The client reported immediate improvement in vehicle condition and property value.
