Ford Ranger Roll Cage

The Brief

An off-road racing team needed a full internal roll cage for their Ford Ranger competition vehicle, built to meet FIA-spec dimensions for rally events.

Constraints & Requirements

FIA appendix J specifications for tube diameters and wall thickness, 6-point minimum, door bars with removable sections for driver access, harness mounting points, fire extinguisher bracket.

Our Solution

Full 6-point roll cage fabricated from 44.5mm × 2.5mm DOM seamless tubing. Includes gusset plates at all major junctions, removable door bars with quick-release pins, 4 harness anchor points, and a fire extinguisher bracket. All welds ground smooth and the cage was finished in safety orange powder coating.

Outcome

Completed in 2 weeks. The cage passed scrutineering at the first inspection with no rework required. The team completed their first season with the vehicle, including a rollover event where the cage protected the driver as designed.
